Concussion testing for 2017-2018 Athletes begins at WJ on August 7th. Parents and student athletes should review all of the information on the MCPS Health and Safety pages and then click the “Sports Medicine” tab in the black bar on this page for details.

MCPS student-athletes are required to have a baseline test, good for two-years, on file with the school prior to participating in a scrimmage or contest. Prospective Fall sports athletes who do not have a current baseline test on file MUST attend a session on a date listed under “Sports Medicine. Winter & Spring sports athletes whose current tests will expire prior to the start of their next sport’s season may also attend these sessions. However, testing will be offered again prior to the Winter & Spring seasons.

STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PARTICIPATE IN SCRIMMAGES UNTIL THEY HAVE A CONCUSSION TEST!

The athletic staff is aware that some student-athletes may be unavailable due to the new academic start date. Additional test dates will be scheduled after tryouts begin. Please check back for more information.
