Walter Johnson High School
Poolesville High School
Senior center Matt Collishaw hit all 9 of his attempts from the field, a result presaged by the same effort earlier in the JDS scrimmage. The Wildcats outscored the Falcons in the second and third quarters, and were within 3 (43-46) with 37.4 seconds left in the game. The Wildcats last lead, incredibly, was midway through the first quarter at 8-5. Seventeen turnovers hurt the WJ effort, as the Wildcats kept pace throughout the contest, but gave the ball back at critical moments.
Collishaw fought hard for all of his shots, the 6’5″ center hitting on turnarounds, contested layups and putbacks, scoring almost all his 18 points in the paint.
The Wildcats were led in the assist column by Nate Hochberg with 3. Will Koenick grabbed 6 assists, and Yoav Katav had the only steal for the Wildcats, on which he recorded a 2 point layup. Collishaw and Chris Carlyle recorded the Wildcats 2 blocks on the evening.
The Wildcats return home to take on the Blair Blazers at 7:15 on Wednesday 12/14.
