Wildcats News · MCPS Athletic Directors 25 Days of Giving

Hi Everyone!

I hope this email finds you and your families doing well during this difficult time.  I look forward to the time we can all be back together, sharing our Wildcat Pride & Tradition!

The Athletic Directors of MCPS are doing 25 days of giving to raise money and awareness for a variety of charitable foundations. Each day a different High School charity or foundation will be highlighted by all the other high schools.  It is our goal to raise $600 per day by asking our MCPS communities to donate $1 to that particular cause!  We want to show how far a dollar can go!

Wednesday is Walter Johnson’s turn in the MCPS Athletic Directors 25 Days of Giving!

We have selected the Fisher House Foundation in honor of our alum, friend, and Medal of Honor Recipient – Capt. Flo Groberg.

A Fisher House is “a home away from home” for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. The homes are normally located within walking distance of the treatment facility or have transportation available. There are 86 Fisher Houses located on 25 military installations and 37 VA medical centers. Many more houses are under construction or in design.
There is never a charge to stay at a Fisher House.

On Wednesday, 4/22/20 we are asking everyone who can, to donate $1.00 to the Fisher House Foundation to help support military families visiting their loved ones at NSA Bethesda-Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Please be sure to share this information with everyone who knew Flo. Always in our minds and our hearts!
