The Wildcats sink 6 from 3-point range in the first quarter and keep the Blazers at arm’s length the rest of the way to earn a huge win at home. Bealu Bezabeh hit 3 straight treys in that first quarter, Kai Holloway nailed a pair, and Charlie Newman sank the sixth of the Wildcats’ shots from behind the arc. WJ took a 12 point (34-22) lead into the half, as Zach Miller and Patrick Kemp each added a 3-pointer in the second quarter. Josh Forburger had a pair of threes in the second half, and Philip Stubin added the Cats’ 11th trey, as the Blazers were unable to narrow the halftime margin. Overall, the Wildcats shot 29 of 56 from the field for the game (51.8%). Bezabeh led the Wildcats with 23 points, shooting 10 for 14 from the field, and added 4 steals, 3 assists and 5 rebounds. Holloway added 16 points, shot 6 of 9 from the field, and had a team-leading 7 assists. Stubin finished with 15 points and added 5 more assists to bring his season total to 94.
The Wildcats go to 9-8 on the season, and take to the road to face off against the Poolesville Falcons this Friday, 2/7/2020. Note the early tip-off time of 5:30 p.m.
