The Wildcats continue their impressive three point shooting production, hitting double-digit treys for the second consecutive game in a road win at Poolesville. The Wildcats went 14 of 26 from behind the arc (53.8%) and shot 57.4% overall from the field. The Wildcats sank 9 of their threes in the first half, led by Kai Holloway’s 4. Holloway would finish with 7 treys (out of 10 attempts) and 26 points in all to lead WJ in scoring. The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead with their scoring outburst and took a 39-22 into the halftime break. The Falcons hustled to outscore the Wildcats 20-9 in the third and climb within 6, but Charlie Newman nailed a 3 to lead off the fourth, and Holloway hit 3 in a row from long range to rebuild the lead to 20 points (69-49) by the 2:12 mark of the period. Josh Forburger dropped in 16 points, hitting all 5 of his 2 point attempts, and 2 of 3 from long range. Forburger led the Cats in rebounds with 7. Mikel Fornwald blocked 3 shots and tied Newman for the lead in assists with 6.
The Wildcats go to 10-8 on the season, and return to action at home on Tuesday, 2/11/2020, taking on the Paint Branch Panthers, with tipoff scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
