The boys varsity basketball team ran past Wheaton on Monday night, 85-63. With the win, the Cats clinch their first division title since 1998. Congratulations to the team for this terrific accomplishment!
Behind 13 first half points from Hank Roll, 10 from Abdel Nasser, and 8 from Spencer Mahne, the Cats raced to a 41-29 halftime lead. Led by the sharp shooting of Sean Lynch off the bench, the cats blew the game open in the 3rd quarter. Sean hit three 3-pointers from the left corner in the quarter, and sparked the Cats to their largest scoring quarter of the season, 29 points. The Cats also had their largest game output of the season with 85 points. In a great team win, all 15 players got on the scoreboard.
The win brings the Cats overall record to 13-5 (7-1 in the division) and moves them one game closer to clinching the top playoff seed in their section. Special thanks goes out to the student section for another strong showing! The Cats are back in action on Friday evening at 5:30 at Wootton. Come out and show your support!
