The Wildcats led the game from the tipoff until a few minutes into the fourth quarter, but fall to the visiting Barons in game 3 of the hotly contested season series. The game was, in fact, tied at 49 with 1:14 left, but a series of Wildcat layups and 3 point attempts went errant at the close. The Wildcats fell to the Barons in game 1 of the series 58-59, but came back a week later at home to deliver a 71-47 win. The Wildcats had a higher seed and home court advantage in tonight’s playoff game.
Junior guard Philip Stubin led WJ with 19 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals, and tied senior forward Bealu Bezabeh with 4 assists. Senior guard Kai Holloway and junior forward Patrick Kemp each contributed 8 points. The team went 18 of 55 from the field, including 8 of 26 from 3 point range.
It was the final game for hardworking seniors Gabe Riveiro, Mikel Fornwald, Kai Holloway, Josh Forburger, and Bealu Bezabeh.
