WJ wins its 2nd consecutive County Championship over a great Churchill Bulldogs team. After losing the first set 20-25, WJ asserted its dominance 25-9 in the 2nd set behind power serving and hitting from Francesco Sani. Churchill had no answers for his big serves and the Wildcat’s confidence built back up and carried over into the remaining games of the match. As always, Andrew Harper provided steady offense, defense, and leadership as he concluded his stellar career at WJ. Daniel Kim and Ryan Harper both provided steady serving. Setter Luke Morris added 4 big kills on 4 attempts to keep Churchill off balance. Middles Corey Criss and Sam Leaman combined for only 2 errors on the night and provided their usual blocking and hitting contributions. Congratulations to all the boys for a job well done. WJ finished the season 15-0, with an remarkable 45-2 set record. With many starters returning next year, but a few holes to fill, the Wildcats will eye the challenge of a “three-peat” next year!
